Question: How do I obtain the real dimensions and the location of the gnomon?
Answer: The gnomon is drawn flattened in the design of the clock face. Its actual dimensions are the same as those of the drawing. To obtain a pattern, cut the gnomon out of the printout directly. To locate the gnomon correctly, we should observe the correct notation in the design of the clock and use the same corresponding notation to locate the gnomon. This way, the gnomon is attached to the surface of the clock for the line defined by the points A and B. The tip is represented by the letter G and the pole, if it is included, is the letter P.
